K010 Numurkah Results
Up first we had Benson take on Kim Thompson. Nice display of takedowns and some heavy kicks landed on Bens behalf. He got caught early in his opponents guillotine attempt, but was able to remain calm and collected to defend it. Benson dominated the ground game and was able to secure the win.
Nhanny had a tough fight on his hands, taking on Mat Reids boy Cam Pegg from Sor Nak Soo under Muay Thai rules. From the word go Nhanny bombed his opponent with some heavy punches, never taking a backward step he kept coming forward. Nhanny wore some knees from clinch but still fought on aggressively. Unfortunately Nhanny lost on a split judges decision.
Lastly came Andrew Pato (the quiet achiever of the gym). A nice single leg take down from the beginning to set up his barrage of heavy handed body shots. Pato remained clam throughout the entire fight and managed to secure the win. Its good to see some of our up and comers having a crack at MMA and Muay Thai. Thanks to all who came up to support the lads in there fights. Its great to see so much team support. Job well done to all who competed this weekend and I look forward to seeing you back in the ring.
