Thomas Ruderman victorious on Style Wars – Burwood
On the weekend Thomas Ruderman took on Anthony Brancatisano under full MMA rules on Brad Reids Style Wars promotion. As the name suggests the show included a number of different “styles” from pure grappling and boxing to full muay thai and MMA. The show itself ran smoothly and professionally, a job well done to Brad Reid – we look forward to fighting on more of your promotions.
The fight itself had a few little nice exchanges standing up. Thomas was able to secure a number of takedowns and take advantage of the top position using some nice punches and elbows. The second round saw Tom unleash with some heavy handed strikes and secure the top position once again unloading some more. As soon as Tom saw the opportunity to end the fight with a head arm triangle, he did so, and managed to submit his opponent in round 2. A good hard fight from Anthony who was a tough opponent and a great sportsman. A job well done to both gentleman.
Want to say a huge thanks to the 50 strong army who came down to support Tom, you are a peoples champion! Tom has been training extremely hard for this fight. He managed to spend more time in the gym than in his own home. It has been a few hard gruelling weeks of training, but it has all paid off. Happy Bday Tom.
